Rusty, Murky Water in Chiller Water Tank? The Real Cause Is Not Water Quality

Many factory owners complain that the water in the chiller tank turns yellow and rusty after a period of use. Poor water quality clogs pipelines and weakens mold cooling performance.

Most rust comes from the water pump! Ordinary cast‑iron pumps rust gradually when submerged, and rust particles circulate in the water system.

Solutions from equipment upgrades

  1. Replace cast‑iron pumps with stainless‑steel pumps to stop rust from the pump.

  2. Adopt stainless‑steel evaporators to reduce internal corrosion. These two improvements can largely solve rust problems inside the water tank.

❌Warning Do not add automotive antifreeze out of convenience! Low‑grade antifreeze is corrosive. Over time, it erodes copper tubes and causes leaks, leading to heavy losses. Rust on molds and external pipelines needs separate anti‑corrosion treatment. Upgrading the chiller alone cannot fix it.
