Based on practical experience, a 5‑hp tank‑type chiller is sufficient for blow‑molding machines making 2.5‑liter products. Blow‑molding machines do not require high water pressure, so a standard single pump will work fine.
If you need highly accurate calculations, or intend to connect multiple machines to one large chiller to cut costs, share your hourly material consumption.
The chiller’s main job is mold cooling. Plastic material is melted by the screw and then injected into the mold. We calculate cooling capacity according to shot size — how many parts are produced per hour — using physical formulas.
Improper chiller sizing leads to insufficient cooling, deformed finished parts and lower production efficiency.
